The Atlantic’s esteemed National Correspondent, James Fallows, is also the magazine’s resident beer geek. While he was recalling his favorite midwest beers for a recent blog post, nostalgia jockeyed his brain to recall his favorite American beers enjoyed while reporting in China. We agree on at least a couple of them.
Our Brewmaster tends to travel quite a bit — doing beer dinners around the country, collaborating with brewmasters at foreign breweries, etc. Below is a clip from a recent trip he took to Sweden. At about 8 minutes in, watch Garrett navigate the bi-lingual waters of the Swedish Today Show.

We’re pretty excited for Sunday, May 16th over here at The Brewery. That’s when the neighborhood bands together and shows off it’s significant culinary skill. From the area’s Polish heritage, to its cool kids table to our very own competitive cooking champions, TASTE promises to bring together North Brooklyn’s varied and delicious cuisines for a fine Sunday of eating and raising money. Raising money you say? Why yes. All proceeds from ticket sales (which you can purchase right here) go to building a community center in the old firehouse on Wythe. Rain or shine all of the top eateries in the ‘hood will be out in the street directly in front of The Brewery. Of course, we’ll be serving beer inside the brewery too (a nice chunk of those sales will also go to the firehouse) so you can feel free to bring your food on in.
