FINALLY RECOVERED FROM BONNAROO

P1020798

Bonnaroo 2011 has come and gone, and with it so has another epic excursion to sunny Tennessee in celebration of music, art and beer. We braved the heat — and over 80,000 people — to enjoy the songsmithings of Eminem, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, Buffalo Springfield, My Morning Jacket, Lil Wayne, Bassnectar, Girl Talk, Primus, Dr. John & The Meters, Gogol Bordello, Ratatat, Deerhunter, Devotchka, Best Coast, The Sword, Twin Shadow, The Walkmen, Phosphorescent and many, many more.

And of course there was beer. Under the delicious shade of the “Brooer’s Tent” we poured refreshing cups of Brooklyn Summer Ale and Brooklyner Weisse, gave away merch and made new friends from near and afar. Read more to see some photos (and click here for the Flickr set):

Local X Local :: Celebrating The Best In Locally Brewed Music, Arts, Media… And Beer!

Celebrate the release of Cheeseburger’s album, ANOTHER NIGHT DOWN THE DRAIN and catch an all-new episode of Adult Swim’s Superjail! with cast & crew members, plus other special guests, following the show.

Total mayhem”…”complete chaos”…”goofy”…”real-deal rock,” these are all ways Cheeseburger’s music and live shows have been described and they are all spot on. This isn’t a band concerned with rules or expectations they just want to rock and rock is what they do. Another Big Night Down The Drain is their second studio recording and first release on Williams Street Records. The new album has a bigger sound, but the same riff-heavy garage punk vibe that channels the likes and fervor of The Stooges and The Dickies with a dash of a tripped-out comedic GG Allin. Music from this release will be featured in Season 2 of Superjail! – on the air April 3rd.

“Rather than copy some Mötley Crüe cliché and wind up sounding like Jet or Lous XIV, Cheeseburger toy with rock archetypes the way a big cat teases its prey.”

BROOKLYN BREWERY @ SXSW 2011

sxsw-logo1

UPDATE Monday, March 21 :: SXSW 2011 has come and gone, and what a time it was. We had a blast at the Pitchork #Offline showcases on Thursday and Friday at East Side Drive In, and TV on The Radio, Okkervil River, The Dodos and OFF! were just a few of the great performances we witnessed across in Austin (not to mention a surprise appearance by LL Cool J); musicians from around the world played dozens of genres from venues including bars, clubs, alleyways, parking lots, backyards, fields and the city’s sidewalks. We ate deep fried bacon wrapped pickles, pulled pork sliders with fried onions, Canadian bacon jalapeño-jelly donuts, and frightening amounts of smoked meat off the bone. We drank and shared a great slew of Brooklyn Lager and EIPA, and were introduced to some fantastic local breweries including the (512) Brewing Company and Real Ale Brewing Company. All of this is to say SxSW 2011 was a great success.

Speaking of winning, Austinite Elizabeth Meador was the winner of a brand new, beautifully crafted Brooklyn Brewery skateboard by Bustin Boards at the Friday Pitchfork #Offline show. Cheers, Liz!
