UPDATE // JAN 20

From Philly Brand Manager Miles Moser:

I just got the official word from the Institute that Brooklyn claimed victory at the NY Brewery “Battle Royale” on Sat 1/13/11. This event had an impressive turnout throughout it’s 2-8pm run on Saturday. On the ballot for the event were three beers from each of the following: Southern Tier, Sixpoint, Ommegang, Ithaca, and Brooklyn. Brooklyn’s Monster Ale, Black Chocolate Stout, and Companion all finished in the top ten, with Brooklyn winning overall. Companion seemed to be the crowd favorite of all beers poured.

On Saturday, January 14 at The Institute in Philadelphia, Brooklyn Monster Ale, Black Chocolate Stout and The Companion will compete in a third annual Battle Royale featuring breweries hailing from the great state of New York.

Monster Ale has been sparing with the beef hanging in the cold room at the Meat Hook here in Williamsburg, Black Chocolate Stout is jogging in the mountains of Russia as your read this, and you’ve just never seen anyone jump rope like The Companion Ale.

Our brand new Brand Manager/Trainer, Miles Moser, will be on hand to talk shop and motivate the Brooklyn contenders from the sidelines.
