An evening that celebrates the bounty of spring with renowned authors, chefs and visionaries, featuring highly acclaimed writers and chefs who will present seasonal bites. The evening builds on the success of the first Food Book Fair with a focus on sustainability throughout the program. Guests will have the opportunity to experience bites from the world-class cookbooks by their favorite authors, and books will be available for purchase.
Our fundraiser will be benefitting Veggie Island: Founded in 2010, in Rockaway Beach, Veggie Island was a community hub for locally grown, ecologically friendly products and produce. A retail venue that helped improve food access and infrastructure in the Rockaways, their aim as they rebuild is to provide multi-faceted outreach to the community involving gardening, cooking, youth internships, and overall environmental awareness. They are helping to rebuild Rockaway Beach.
