Meatball Slapdown @ Brooklyn Brewery

On Thursday, April 3rd, New Yorkers will once again discover who’s slinging the hottest meatballs in town at the 5th Annual Meatball Slapdown. Hosted by Brooklyn Grange and The Brooklyn Kitchen, this fundraiser supports their respective youth driven educational programs: City Growers and Classrooms in the Kitchen. Last year, Hugue Dufour of M. Wells Dinette and now M. Wells Steakhouse took home the title. This year, newbies, Gennaro Virtuoso of Lorimer Market and River Styx will battle it out. They’re joined in their gauntlet by veterans, Mile End and Brooklyn Star. Also on board are Martha, El Colmado, Saltie, and Briskettown. And don’t forget our own entry, a collaboration between Brooklyn Brewery Chef, Andrew Gerson, and soon to open dining space, Humboldt & Jackson. Our money’s on that last one, folks, but come taste and vote for yourself. Tickets are $60, include beer and food, and are available here:
