Join Brooklyn Historical Society on January 22nd for The Moth StorySLAM hosted by comedienne Ophira Eisenberg, of NPR’s quiz show Ask Me Another. The theme this time is integrity in honor of the BHS exhibit, Brooklyn Abolitionists/In Pursuit of FreedomCome wow the judges with stories of standing your ground and employing your moral compass, or simply come to laugh, cry and cheer on the storytellers. Brooklyn Brewery will be providing adult beverages to keep the conversation flowing.

The Brooklyn Abolitionists/In Pursuit of Freedom long-term exhibit explores the unsung heroes of Brooklyn’s anti-slavery movement — ordinary residents, black and white — who shaped their neighborhoods, city and nation with a revolutionary vision of freedom and equality. The exhibit is part of the groundbreaking In Pursuit of Freedom public history project that features new research on Brooklyn’s abolition movement in partnership with Weeksville Heritage Center and Irondale Ensemble Project.

Tickets are $8 or $5 for BHS members.
