Teddy’s Bar & Grill is a Williamsburg institution steeped in a rich, hoppy tradition. The building was the original site of one of Peter Doelger’s brewery outposts one hundred and twenty five years ago, and has operated as a tavern since then, weathering everything from Prohibition to gentrification. Teddy’s is the current occupant of the site, and is ringing in its venerable twenty-fifth anniversary this year as well. Festivities will take place from October 18 through 20, including music, films and Brooklyn luminaries paying homage to the historic and trusty bar. September 18 will feature Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy as he returns to the location of his first sale of Brooklyn Lager, as well as Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and music famed local DJ Strafe and the Tim Clement Trio. Special bottles from Brooklyn Brewery bearing Peter Doelger’s original label designs will also be on hand for the celebrations. Join us in toasting Teddy’s and wishing it many more years of success.
