Come to the Brooklyn Brewery on Wednesday, September 30 at 7:30 for the fifth installment of War Correspondents at the Brooklyn Brewery. The series will feature war reporters and photographers displaying their work and discussing some of their experience in the world’s most dangerous conflicts. All proceeds will go towards RISC to train field correspondents in first aid and other necessary lifesaving skills.
ABC News’ Bob Woodruff was taping a report from a tank on patrol in Iraq in 2006 when the vehicle struck an IED, leaving him critically injured and unconscious for over a month. Just 13 months after his traumatic experience, Bob returned to ABC News with “To Iraq and Back: Bob Woodruff Reports.”
Woodruff’s book, In an Instant: A Family’s Journey of Love and Healing, is an important, wise, and inspiring guide to coping with tragedy-and an extraordinary drama of marriage, family, war, and nation.
Join us at the Brewery for a conversation with Bob Woodruff as he discusses the hardships faced by those stationed in conflict zones, and answers questions about the personal risk that’s taken when working in such dangerous terrain. Woodruff will also share stories of his personal journey from news desk to the front line and back.
Ticket includes admission and a free Brooklyn Brewery beer. All proceeds from the events in this series benefit RISC (Reporters Instructed in Saving Colleagues).
**Anyone who purchased a ticket for event on June 12th, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for free entrance.
