bb_brooklyn_sweden_main poster

We’re pleased to announce the triumphant return of BROOKLYN, SWEDEN, our festival of Brooklyn for the Swedish set. Last year we rocked Scandinavia with a killer lineup of Brooklyn bands at Debaser. For our second go around we’ve decided to diversify the diversions and bring Stockholm a mashed up marquis of Brooklyn bands, food, film and art. Here’s the full schedule, and get your tickets here: (more…)

“Dirty Country” Screening

Join Brooklyn Brewery and directors Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett (of the Found Footage Festival, The Onion, Late Show With David Letterman) for a very special, and free, screening of the award-winning feature doc, Dirty Country, at the very cool Brooklyn Rod & Gun Club in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. From 7-8pm, Found Footage Fest will buy your first two rounds of Brooklyn beer.

MEET LARRY PIERCE: a small-town factory worker and family man who happens to be the raunchiest country music singer in America. Since 1993, Larry has quietly released over a dozen dirty country albums at truck stops across the country.

Dirty Country introduces an ordinary man with an extra-ordinary gift for dirty music and tells the unlikely story of how his songs were thrust out of obscurity and into the spotlight. The film also profiles several living legends of the raunchy music business, including piano virtuoso Dr. Dirty, seminal funk singer Blowfly, and the original party band, Doug Clark’s Hot Nuts. With commentary from leading authors, experts and social critics, the film poses the question: is America a nation of prudes or are we living in a dirty country?
