Brooklyn Goes To Rochester

Brooklyn Brewery is making the trip north to Rochester to celebrate Rochester Real Beer Week from June 14th – June 23rd. Come see and celebrate with us at the following events:

+ June 15th, Wegmans (1750 East Av. Rochester NY) Sampling Brooklyner Wheat 2-4pm

+ June 15th Rochester Real Beer Expo (On Gregory Street, In the South Wedge, Rochester NY. Across from the Tap and Mallet (381 Gregory St.)) 5-6pm VIP Admission $65 entry 1hr before general admission. 6-10pm $45 Rochesters premier outdoor real beer festival featuring over 40 brewerys, cideries, food vendors, local Rochester music and games. All proceeds go to South wedge neighborhood improvements, community art, and beautification. Brooklyn will be pouring 2 BrewMaster Reserve’s. Scorcher #366 and There Will Be Black. We will also have t-shirts and Brooklyn Swag for Sale. Buy at the event and save on Shipping.

+ June 17th The Old Toad (277 Alexander St. Rochester NY) Beer Themed Trivia Night Sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery. Bottles of Silver Anniversary Lager for correct quiz questions. A Steve Hindy beer making kit, along with a ton of other goodies(hats, glasses, bottle openers, koozies, local 1&2 Ace bottles and more) for the overall winner! Reservations Recommended.

+ June 18th Tap and Table (284 Exchange Blvd. Rochester NY) Brooklyn Cans and Clams 5-9pm, Featuring Brooklyn Lager, Summer and EIPA. Dinner special- Can of Brooklyn beer, dozen clams, pile of potatoes and corn on the cob. We will be celebrating out on the patio along the beautiful Genesee River! We will be playing Brooklyn Corn Toss for prizes! Tons of giveaways, t-shirts, hats, bottle openers, koozies, tin Brooklyn Signs and 750 bottle beers for playing! Brooklyn’s Utica Brewer Mary Wiles joins us along with a host of reps and brewers from Brooklyn, Ommegang, Naked Dove, Green Flash, Southertier, Stoudt’s and more! There will also be female beer writers available for questions.” 5-6pm Informal Meet and Greet 6-7pm Samples of all the beers featured. Brooklyn is poring Marys Maple Porter and Summer Ale. 7-8pm Panel discussion with Guest questions.

Celebrating 25 Years of Brooklyn Beer (Part II)

The celebration of a quarter century of Brooklyn beer continues at Brooklyn Bowl on June 18 with the launch of the next Silver AnniversaryLager label (by Joe Amrhein, pictured below) and music from Brooklyn band Guards. The party is part of our Local x Local music, arts and media series at The Bowl, free with an RSVP, or $5 at the door on the day of. Silver Anniversary Lager will be available on draft & in big bottles, and pints of Brooklyn Lager will be just $4.

5th Annual BAM CinemaFest, June 19-June 28

BAMcinemaFest is turning 5! Kicking off at the BAM Harvey Theater, this year’s  festival continues the tradition of gathering the latest and greatest films from across the film festival circuit to give New Yorkers their first look at the most inspiring and intriguing new voices in American independent cinema. For their fifth festival, BAM is throwing a hometown party like never before, featuring a variety of films directed by Brooklyn-based filmmakers that have premiered at Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, Berlin, SXSW, Rotterdam and beyond.

Dubbed the “future of Italian food in America” by the NY Times, Chefs Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone of Torrisi Italian Specialtieschannel the eclectic immigrant flavors of Chinatown, the Lower East Side and Little Italy into their distinctly local take on Italian-American cuisine. Mitchell Davis, VP of the James Beard House, joins to tackle the question of what it means to cook “Italian” in today’s New York. A tasting will follow the discussion.

Tom Shillue’s Funny Story @ Brooklyn Brewery

Comics. Writers. Stories. Laughs. Renowned storyteller and handsome beer-lover Tom Shillue brings his talents to the Tasting Room as the host of Funny Story, a comedy show with a beautifully simple premise: tell us your best story. We will be having Clay McLeod Chapman: novelist, playwright, story slam winner and screenwriter; Baron Ambrosia: host of Bronx Flavor and The Culinary Adventures of Baron Ambrosia on the Cooking Channel; Elna Baker: actress, comedian and writer. Chris Gethard: actor, comedian and host of The Chris Gethard Show; and Nat Towsen: co-host/producer/head writer of the variety show The Moon as well as a comedian and writer.

Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival

The nine-day Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival presented by M&T Bank was founded in 2002 and is produced by John Nugent, Artistic Director and Marc Lacona, Executive Director. This year’s 12th Edition, June 21-29, will feature a diverse and eclectic performance roster of 1,200-plus artists performing in more than 300 concerts including 81 free shows at 19 venues. The 2012 Festival drew more than 187,000 music lovers to hear some of the finest artists in the world perform.
