SUNDAY, APRIL 22: noon to 3pm The Food Experiments National Tour continues on to Washington, DC with the Chinese Take-Out Experiment at the Rock and Roll Hotel. Attendees tweet photos of their favorite bite @BrooklynBrewery with the hash tag #DCFoodEx for a chance to win this homebrew kit. Judging the experiment will be Mary Kong, freelance food-writer and blogger at Girl Meets Food, and Lauren De Santis, cookbook author and host/producer of Capital Cooking.$10 includes tasting samples and a complimentary Brooklyn Brewery beer. A portion of the proceeds will go towards charities that promote sustainability and local culinary education for disadvantaged children and teens. Buy tickets here.
SATURDAY, APRIL 21: noon-2pmBut wait, there’s more! The day before the Chinese Take-Out Experiment, the Washington DC Supermarket Showdown goes off at Harris Teeter (600 North Glebe Rd, Arlington). Come out and watch as seven-time Brooklyn Cook-Off champ, Theo Peck, comes to town to take on one of your own local foodies for bragging rights in a mini cook-off of mini-epic proportions. The not so secret ingredient: Brooklyn Brewery beer.
