atlantic Ave Co

Support Atlantic Ave Co. at their official launch party here at the brewery on February 8th.

Atlantic Ave says:

We are ready to shift into the next stage of the company’s growth, as we work to expand our production capability, marketing reach, and capacity to drive sales to specialty food stores throughout the northeast. None of that can happen without your help, and a night out in Brooklyn is the best way we can say “Thank You” to our earliest supporters.

Nosh on yummy Pasta with Red Sauce and wash it all down with Brooklyn Brewery beers, all the while doing a good deed. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here:

Come celebrate the launch of Beer Lover’s New York: The Empire State’s Best Breweries, Brewpubs and Beer Bars here at the brewery! The book is by husband and wife team, Giancarlo and Sarah Annese. These native New Yorkers became immersed in craft beer culture after moving to New York City in the fall of 2008. Together they founded and run the NYC-centric website, BeerUnion.

The fresh beer will flow and you’ll have a chance to meet the authors of the book and get your copy signed! Tickets are available for purchase now. Giancarlo and Sarah recommend getting them in advance since only limited tickets will be available at the door.

Funny-Story-BBased

It’s becoming a tradition here at the brewery to spend one night each month guffawing at Tom Shillue and his cohort of expert storytellers. Tom, if you don’t already know, is a master tale spinner and each month he and our partners, Brooklyn Based put together a program of great, true stories from various raconteurs and call it “Tom Shillue’s Funny Story.” This time they’re bringing:

+ Craig Baldo
+ Jeffrey Joseph
+ Jess Wood
+ Blaise Allysen Kearsley

The show has been a hit so far, and for $10 (including a beer), it’s a real bargain too. Join us on Thursday, February 20th at 8pm for laughs and good times.

In addition to Josh, get ready for stories by:

Sara Barron

So you’ve always wanted to have a food blog. Seems like a lot people feel that way these days, but if you want to attract readers and keep them reading, you should come and hear from Edible Brooklyn’s panel of experts on April 2 here at the brewery. On the panel are Cathy Erway, founder and blogger for Not Eating Out in New York and author of The Art of Eating In: How I Learned to Stop Spending and Love the Stove, Billy Lyons, contributor at Zagat Buzz and Village Voice, and Alex Reichek, the voice of Chekmark Eats which was named on of ‘The Best NY Food Blogs” by Huffington Post. Edible’s own digital editor, Ariel Lauren Wilson will moderate. After they share their wisdom, they’ll be taking questions, so come prepared.

On Thursday, April 3rd, New Yorkers will once again discover who’s slinging the hottest meatballs in town at the 5th Annual Meatball Slapdown. Hosted by Brooklyn Grange and The Brooklyn Kitchen, this fundraiser supports their respective youth driven educational programs: City Growers and Classrooms in the Kitchen. Last year, Hugue Dufour of M. Wells Dinette and now M. Wells Steakhouse took home the title. This year, newbies, Gennaro Virtuoso of Lorimer Market and River Styx will battle it out. They’re joined in their gauntlet by veterans, Mile End and Brooklyn Star. Also on board are Martha, El Colmado, Saltie, and Briskettown. And don’t forget our own entry, a collaboration between Brooklyn Brewery Chef, Andrew Gerson, and soon to open dining space, Humboldt & Jackson. Our money’s on that last one, folks, but come taste and vote for yourself. Tickets are $60, include beer and food, and are available here:
