Join salsa band Jerry Hernandez y La Orquesta Dee Jay, DJ Ray Suave, and some of Brooklyn’s best salsa dancers for a night of Salsa at the Brooklyn Museum on Thursday, January 23rd. The fun starts with a dance lesson and continues with more dancing and performances by professional dance teams, including Balmir Latin Dance Studio, featured in the image above. In between dances, find our rep, Camille, who will be sampling our own, Brooklyn Sorachi Ace.
This program is included with Museum general admission; no R.S.V.P. required.
The first in Brooklyn Museum’s new Thursday-evening series, this month’s Off the Wall, taking place on Thursday, February 20th, explores Afrofuturism through live music, an original performance by musician and performer Daví, art-making with artist Saya Woolfalk, an Octavia Butler–inspired reading with Kiini Ibura Salaam, and a curator talk with Saisha Grayson on the exhibition Wangechi Mutu: A Fantastic Journey. If that wasn’t enough, we’ll be there talking beer and offering up samples of select big bottles.
Tickets are $12, which include Museum admission, and can be purchased at www.museumtix.com or at Visitor Services.
