MARKETING COORDINATOR (BROOKLYN, NYC)

The Brooklyn Brewery is looking for an organized and enthusiastic communicator to join the Marketing Unit at our headquarters in Brooklyn, NY. This position has two main responsibilities: Supporting the Domestic Sales Force’s market programming (outside of New York) and assisting with production for the Brooklyn Brewery Mash Tour. This position reports primarily to the Marketing Manager and the Events Producer. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Liaise between the Marketing Unit & Sales Force
  • Create & develop unique programs & events with Sales Reps
  • Develop marketing assets & promotion for events by working with graphic designer, copywriter and social media coordinator
  • Help manage Event Ambassadors in domestic markets
  • Support with market-specific media outreach

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

SHIFT BREWER (BROOKLYN, NYC)

The Brooklyn Brewery is searching for an experienced brewer to join our world-class team at our facility in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  We are a rapidly growing company and currently the 11th largest craft-brewery in the US and one of, if not the top exporters of craft beer.  We are looking for someone who is energetic, passionate about high-quality craft beer, and willing to work hard with our fantastic team of brewers.  We offer a competitive salary as well as a benefits package including medical coverage, a 401(K) plan, and paid company holidays and vacations, along with many other perks.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Wort production on 50 bbl Rolec automated brewhouse
    • Brewhouse operation is performed on rotating shifts, including overnights
    • Covering shifts for absent brewers as needed
    • Helping to maintain the proper culture comprised of good work ethic, working safely, teamwork, and creativity
    • Completing paperwork and spreadsheets with timeliness and accuracy
    • Maintaining consistency in wort quality
    • Assisting Head Brewer with projects
  • Ensure flow of production in the Brewhouse can be maintained, including:
    • Ensuring all ingredients needed for upcoming production are available
    • Working with Cellar to ensure tank and yeast availability
    • Informing the Head Brewer of any mechanical issues requiring maintenance
    • Correcting unsafe or unsanitary conditions, or reporting them to Head Brewer
    • Preparation of fermenting vessels as needed
  • Work with Head Brewer on a housekeeping schedule for the Brewhouse and ingredient stores, as well as ensuring this schedule is maintained.

Qualifications and skills:

Candidate must have at least two years of experience in production brewing. A brewing degree from an accredited institution is a plus. Candidate must embrace high standards of quality, cleanliness and safety.

Candidate must be able to:

  • Lift 60 pounds while climbing stairs
  • Maneuver 55 gallon drums between pallets safely
  • Maneuver oxygen tanks safely
  • Work at height
  • Operate a forklift and powered hand truck

COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST (BROOKLYN, NYC)

The Brooklyn Brewery is currently looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our team. Industry experience is a plus, but not required. Candidates should have a minimum of 3- 5 years experience in a professional office environment, preferably in accounting or bookkeeping. TASTING ROOM FLOOR MANAGER (BROOKLYN, NYC)

The Brooklyn Brewery is seeking an evening events & bar manager. Applicants should have 1-2 years of prior events/management experience. The position will report to our Senior Tasting Room Manager while working closely with the Marketing Unit and tasting room staff as well as interacting with all areas of the organization.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Daily meetings with the Onsite Event Coordinator to go over the night’s events, reviewing daily paperwork and assuring that the event space is arranged accordingly with the evening tour/event requirements
  • Ability to work afternoon and evenings hours (8 hour shift with varying start time based on scheduled tours/events) as well as weekend hours (daytime and evening)
  • Management of Tasting Room staff
  • Understanding event protocols for pricing and booking to further develop future events
  • Processing payments from customers, as well as filing and maintaining daily spreadsheets with the event/company store information to share with the Events Coordinator and accounting department
  • Being on the floor during the tours and events at all times to assure guest enjoyment of the space. These duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Bartending

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage The Brooklyn Brewery Dutch Facebook page
  • Posting relevant messages that enhance the brand awareness of Brooklyn Brewery among the target audience
  • Create news items, posts and (e)mailings
  • Planning, executing and tracking social media campaigns
  • Setting up online marketing activations (e.g. ‘like and share’ competitions)
  • Support the online marketing brand activities

Online/offline event management

You will be responsible for creating buzz around on- and offline organized Brooklyn Brewery events. The aim is to raise brand awareness and achieve more engagement with the brand.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create online PR and buzz around events
  • Create event posts and pages
  • Come up with relevant and innovative campaigns/events
  • Assist with agenda and newsletter content

Requirements

  • Currently living in the Netherlands or planning to study abroad in the spring or summer semesters
  • Currently and undergraduate studying in relevant field (marketing/business/ international business communications/social media/online marketing/journalism)
  • Affinity with Social media
  • Keen interest in creating and delivering online content
  • Experience using/creating campaigns on Facebook
  • Enthusiastic
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Good writing skills
  • Should be a self-starter that knows how to prioritize and doesn’t require a lot of structure or guidance
  • Affinity with (craft) beer and Brooklyn Brewery is key
  • Knowledge in writing and verbal (presentation) skills in both English and Dutch is seen as an asset.

EVENT AMBASSADOR (MULTIPLE TERRITORIES)

The Brooklyn Brewery is seeking an affable, outgoing beer enthusiast to represent our brand at a variety of events in and around multiple beer-centric regions worldwide. This part-time job is responsible for executing a variety of promotional events in bars, restaurants and stores. Promoting Brooklyn Brewery as a spokesperson for our beers and forging relationships on The Brewery's behalf are all primary obligations.

The right candidate will already be a member of the nightlife scene of their home market, with existing relationships that can help position the Brooklyn brand. A familiarity with food trends, contemporary music, film, comedy, and local culture are big plusses.

Responsibilities include:

Coordination between sales reps, venue, and headquarters
Event set-up and tear-down
Capturing and processing newsletter signups
Social media
Engaging with consumers in an easy and fun manner in order to raise brand awareness
Creating new contacts

Event Ambassadors will represent The Brewery on average four times a month.
