Working on community boards and helping out in your neighborhood is a funny thing. The meetings can be long. The commitment is often hard to, well, commit to. But somehow, amidst the different ideas, roadblocks and internal politics, the thing comes together. And when it does, boy does it feel good. TASTE WILLIAMSBURG GREENPOINT will taste good too. Click here to see what Gothamist has to say about our annual benefit to build a community center in the old People’s Fire House on Wythe.

TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint is an outdoor celebration of North Brooklyn’s local flavor… A block party style tasting event, held rain or shine, featuring sample tastes from over 40 of the neighborhood’s best restaurants, breweries, and wineries, along with live music and much more…

1pm to 5pm- Main Tasting Event- enjoy appetizer size (4oz.) food tastes from a selection of over 40 local restaurants along with complimentary sips of craft brews, NY State Wines, and specialty cocktails from our sponsors.

5pm to 6pm- Taste Happy Hour- Drinks continue to pour until the music stops!

Organized by a passionate group of community volunteers and organizers along with leaders in the local food and beverage industry to raise the much needed funds to build the Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center. All proceeds from the event benefit the building of this much needed resource, to be housed in the converted historic former Engine Company 212. The not for profit center will be the home of two long time community groups Neighbors Allied for Good Growth (NAG) and the People’s Firehouse, Inc. (PFI), provide affordable meeting space to local groups, and house a first floor gallery space to be maintained by a collective of local art groups. The money raised will help us get close to the $2 million needed in order to begin renovating the building into a fully functioning Community and Cultural Center.
