Over the weekend, an entourage of Brooklynites made their way upstate to Cooperstown to turn their backs on the Baseball Hall of Fame and do something way more fun: attend the Belgium Comes to Cooperstown beer festival hosted by the benevolent folks at Brewery Ommegang.
Opening their sickeningly gorgeous grounds to hundreds of beer fans and brewers, all were welcome to pitch a tent on the lawn and wander the yards tasting and sharing Belgian-inspired beers. More than beer, there was great food, live music, games and tons of good old fashioned tomfoolery. Brooklyn Brewery represented with big bottles Local 1, Local 2 and Sorachi Ace, and some seriously nice tasting Cuvée Noire on draft. What a time it was.
