The Worshipful Company of Brewers is once again upon us. The charter of this sanctified league dictates that each member of the Brooklyn Brewery brewing team will design and create a batch of his or her own draft-only beer, to be served exclusively at the Brewery Tasting Room until the last drop has been squeezed from the taps.
Beer # 21: Full English

Notes: Maris Otter malt notes of toast, toffee and grain, with a twist of American hops

Brewer #21 Kevin Earley (seen above left, with Chris Cuzme of Fifth Hammer Brewing Company mid-collab)
Started at Brooklyn Brewery: June 2016
Favorite Drinking Spot: Fifth Hammer Brewing Company. Kevin and Chris have brewed together around the city, and great minds like a drink.
Good Bad Advice: “It’s useful to know how to roll cigarettes.”
Brewer’s Notes: Kevin set out to create a beer that exemplified some of his favorite parts of brewing: Maris Otter malts, American hops, history, and experimentation. Full English was brewed with a double boil between our Rolec and Newlands brewhouses, harnessing our everyday worker and our original equipment to create something intriguing. It emerges as a balanced but assertive bitter, with plenty of malt character balanced by all-American hop notes. He also split some of the boil off to become a barleywine, destined for a lengthy slumber in barrels with our friend Brett…but that’s another story entirely.
