Melbourne Good Beer Week: Whisky & Alement Explore Brooklyn @ Whisky & Alement (AUS)
On Saturday, May 25 from 5-6:30 pm, Whisky & Alement will present a tour through what they love most about Brooklyn. A representative from Brooklyn Brewery will be there to discuss our history and our beers, and the evening will also feature charcuterie and rare whisky and beer pairings. Second Annual Stockholm Taco Experiment (Sweden)
The planet’s premier amateur cook-off competition, The Food Experiments returns to Sweden for a flavor-packed soirée featuring homemade tacos from the nations’s “finest, most committed, passionate, intense, and possibly craziest home chefs”. Tickets to the Swedish Taco Experiment (at Debaser Slussen) include a complimentary Brooklyn beer, unlimited samples, and the chance to vote along with a panel of professional judges to crown the next cook-off king or queen of Sweden. Aside from cash and a bundle of cooking equipment, winners receive a lifetime supply of Culinary Glory.

A roundtable of local farmers, led by Eat the City author Robin Shulman, discuss the challenges and rewards of growing food in the most urban of environments. A tasting menu, prepared from local produce, will be served.

Mitchell Davis, VP of the James Beard House, joins to tackle the question of what it means to cook “Italian” in today’s New York. A tasting will follow the discussion.
