It’s a match made in Brooklyn: We’re teaming up with hip hop legends Run The Jewels to make a beer worthy of their five-show run at Madison Square Garden with Rage Against The Machine this August. The beer is called “36” Chain” after the Run The Jewels anthem, and we want you to make the label!
Run The Jewels is accepting art submissions on their site right here. Throw your designs into the ring and you could pull prizes like cash, a VIP Brooklyn Brewery tour, merch from Run The Jewels and Brooklyn Brewery, and of course, Killer Mike and El-P choosing your art to adorn cans of 36″ Chain throughout NYC and at the August shows.
Killer Mike and El-P have a storied history of working with artists and brewers from around the world, and we’re thrilled to party and produce with them. El-P said, “We couldn’t be more excited about our new collaboration with the good people at Brooklyn Brewery. From the moment we talked to them it was clear that they truly care about what they are doing and they really get where we are coming from. This one is going to be special.”
Our Brewmaster Garrett Oliver agrees, weighing in on their shared creative vision: “Sure, it should be fun, but it should also carry real meaning and an almost talismanic power. We mean to conjure some straight-up magic.”
Part of every RTJ collaboration is giving back to the community where the beer is made. A portion of proceeds from 36″ Chain will benefit the Red Hook Art Project, a Brooklyn-based organization encouraging community enrichment through creative self-expression. We’re stoked to support the R. H. A. P. and bring even more artistic energy to our home borough together.
